The Road to Agro Tourism is a special program organized by Malaysia Tourism Malaysia (MTC). This program is to promote the interest of domestic Agro Tourism with the support from Ministry Tourism & Cultural (MOTAC) and Ministry of Agricultural & Agro-Based Industry Malaysia (MOA).
Road To Agro Tourism – 6 zones
There are 6 zones in total under this special program. Each zone is having its own specialty of agricultural and cultural.
- South Zone (Johor)
- Central Zone (Perak & Pahang)
- North Zone (Penang & Kedah)
- East Coast (Terengganu
South Zone was successfully done in the last September 2017 whereby the last destination was at Desaru, Kota Tinggi Johor
Road to Agro Tourism vol. 2 – Central Zone
The Road to Agro Tourism vol 2, another successful program which was held on 12 – 14 December 2017 in collaboration with MARDI.
The launching of Road to Agro Tourism vol. 2 and flagged off were held at the Head Office MARDI Serdang
The purpose of Agro Tourism is to promote our domestic tourism not only to our local tourist but also to all international tourist, said En. Uzaidi, the President of MTC
During the welcoming speech, En. Uzaidi also mentioned that our country has many kinds of fruits such as durian, mangosteen, rambutan and other local fruits which should be introduced to attract more international tourist to Malaysia.

The Mission of Road to Agro Tourism vol. 2
The mission was to promote Agro Durio Tourism Kuala Kangsar and Agro Tourism Cameron Highland.
MARDI Agro Tech Cameron Highlands.All in one to visit by Encik Azman Mohd Saad (Pengarah Pusat Pembangunan & PPengurusan Harta).
Durio Tourism. Mardi Kuala Kangsar. Eat all you can durian.
Besides promoting Agro Tourism, the missions were also promoting the local delights, handicraft, Malaysia Homestay and also art & cultural of Kuala Kangsar.
Malaysia Handicraft that allows us to witness and experienced the process of making the pottery and other art and sewing.
Local ‘Keris’ creator. Learning on the Keris story itself and also how it was made.
Kampung Taman Sedia Ada Homestay. A homestay village for tourists with the natural cool breeze air.
Cameron Valley – Bharat Tea plantation. A chance to tour and drink the aromatic Cameron tea.
Malaysia Local Chocolate by Harriston Signature in Shamelin. Indulging the unique flavor using curry milk, chili, durian musang king and much more.
There were 40 participants in total from the group of media, bloggers and also the representative from the travel agency. From the huge coverage by mainstream media and social media friends, MTC is looking forward to another huge impact in increasing the numbers of tourist into Malaysia and making the tourism sector into an important economic sector.
