Breathe Better World Asthma Day – I have learned a lot about asthma today at 1Mont Kiara and it is a significant learning experience for me since I had an asthma attack recently.
Breathe Better Public Campaign
Asthma Malaysia and AstraZeneca have again joined forces to organize the all-new ‘Breathe Better’ public campaign at the 1 Mont Kiara mall.
This event was officiated by Dr. Helmi Haja Mydin, Consultant Respiratory Physician and co-founder of Asthma Malaysia, Dina Nadzir, Malaysian Singer, Radio Announcer, Actress, and Television Presenter; and Ashwini Saha, Country Medical Director and Asia Area Cardiovascular Metabolism Medical Therapeutic Area Lead, AstraZeneca.
Asthma is one of the most common respiratory diseases in Malaysia and has been consistently on the rise. In recent years, the estimated asthma prevalence in Malaysia has increased from 6.4% to 9.4% in children aged 6-7 years old and from 9% to 13% in children aged 13-14.
Activities
At the event, children and parents get to know more about asthma at the information board and play games at the interaction counter.
Besides that, children also joined the coloring contest which is divided into 2 categories, ages below 7 and age between 8 to 12. Their coloring was all amazing and definitely is not easy to pick.
